My daughter is the biggest David Wright fan. For those of you that don't know who he is, he plays 3rd base for the New York Mets. She has always wanted to meet him, and on June 2nd she got her chance. My daughter found out that David Wright would be hosting a benefit for his charity at the South Street Seaport, so she went down there with her Grandma and waited for him to show up. She was so excited, she called me afterward and I could hear it in her voice. She has this photo as her wallpaper on her laptop, and on her ipod. I swear she looks at it every 5 seconds. I decided I wanted to make her a nice layout with this special photo and this is what I came up with...
This is a close up of the title. I did some embellishing with a white gel pen for the first time on the letters. It seems to give it a little something...
close up of the journaling cut out with Spellbinders,
I also cut out the heart embellishments on the page with Spellbinders...
close up of the calender. I picked up this calender stamp last weekend in the clearance section at Michaels. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for this layout, I used JustRite Stampers for the month and year, and embossed them both using colors that went along with the overall color scheme of the background paper. I also used a distresser for the edges of the calender just to give it some dimension. The dates on the calender were handwritten. I really don't like my handwriting so I make every effort on my craft projects to find ways around that. Unfortunately this time I did not...
This was just a little something I thought my daughter would enjoy
(her initials and his initials)...
I really love this font. I used it on this heart and the journaling in the star up top because I think it looks like really cute handwriting.
close up...
and here is a close up of the photo. Notice the shirt she is wearing, I made that for her with heat transfer vinyl. For the frame I used the corner adorner victorian frame punch, and also used a white gel pen and some bling to embellish it.
I put the layout in this frame I bought at Michaels and gave it to my daughter last night.
She loves it.
