School Project

My daughter had an assignment for her freshman English class over winter break. She had to put together a book of poetry, that was to be made into actual book.  The rules were that there had to be a total of 12 poems. She had to write one of the poems, and one could be song lyrics. She also had to, as the editor of this book, write a summary of why she chose the poem, and give a biography of each poet.

My daughter knew exactly how she wanted this book to look, and that she wanted to bind it together with the Bind-it-all. For the pages including the covers she selected the Gone Wild stack from DCWV. For the title she wanted to stamp, and emboss the words with glitter. I couldn't believe in my stash of craft supplies I had an almost exact match to the color of the glitter on the paper.  She used Justrite Stampers for the words, and Zing embossing powder for the glitter.

This is the cover.

Another thing my daughter had to do was write about herself. She decided she wanted it to look like the inside of a book jacket where it has the author's bio and sometimes a photograph. I made her a flap that we inserted between this page and the back cover to look like that.

This is the page with the flap lifted up.
